Welcome to the Equity in Education Hub

The Equity in Education Hub is a growing collection of research reports that utilize identity-based data to educate about the realities and experiences of students in the Greater Toronto Area.

The York University 2018 Faculty of Education Summer Institute (#FESI2018) focuses on the collection, integration, and reporting of identity-based data. To extend the dialogue, the Equity in Education Hub was created as a collaborative, community-based space.

The hub is a growing collection of reports that researchers, academics, community members, students, parents and others will find useful in understanding the realities of schooling as it pertains to student access, engagement, achievement and well-being, both historically and presently.

This site has been developed in partnership with the Réseau de Savoir sur l’Équité/Equity Knowledge Network (RSEKN) hosted by the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Education and the Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS), the Jean Augustine Chair in Education, Community and Diaspora and the Faculty of Education, York University.

The materials presented in the Equity in Education Hub and the Faculty of Education’s Summer Institute (#FESI2018) explore the political and pedagogical challenges and possibilities of identity-based data collection, integration and reporting to address systemic barriers within education.
